I love talking to them and listen to their life stories, it's very enlightening.Miriamhttp://www.farmgirlmiriam.ca/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1532204237192804954.post-11334318108705569412015-03-04T10:42:05.847-08:002015-03-04T10:42:05.847-08:00That's definitely the good thing about living ...That's definitely the good thing about living in a small town, I agree. I'm glad she was surrounded by so much love and support in her final days!
Hawaii is paradise, I'm having such a good time! It will be sad to go home, but I can't wait to hug my dogs! I miss them way too much, I started dreaming of them at night haha :-)Miriamhttp://www.farmgirlmiriam.ca/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1532204237192804954.post-86801618289804206632015-03-04T10:38:43.141-08:002015-03-04T10:38:43.141-08:00Me, too. In that regard we are all the same, everybody has to deal with that.
I'm in awe of people of an older generation who are so open-minded and adventurous - they are my role models! It must be particularly difficult when everyone around you makes fun of it or tries to discourage you.Miriamhttp://www.farmgirlmiriam.ca/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1532204237192804954.post-90203275836476396672015-03-04T10:28:37.189-08:002015-03-04T10:28:37.189-08:00Thanks Amanda! I took them all on the Big Island of Hawaii, it's so incredibly diverse.
Listening to the stories, regrets, and triumphs of older people is so interesting. There is so much to learn! My mother-in-law is from a different generation and very old-school, she doesn't share many of my believes about life, and vice versa; but it's very educational to hear her take on things and trying to understand her reasons.Miriamhttp://www.farmgirlmiriam.ca/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1532204237192804954.post-91330029260988060672015-03-03T11:26:43.511-08:002015-03-03T11:26:43.511-08:00So true! It's also scary to think about the fact that we don't know how much time we have left! But it's life.
Jade xJasey Jadenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1532204237192804954.post-65121088980136756152015-03-02T16:10:01.702-08:002015-03-02T16:10:01.702-08:00"Time is limited. That is great you guys got to do the trip all together (even if it might get to be too much togetherness :) ). Small towns can be weird. Though I have to say it was so sweet to get to see all of P's mom's friends and classmates to come visit while we were at the hospice with her. She lived in their small town most of her life, and she had people come to visit that she went to first grade with. It's sweet to see that connection. She had so many visitors. P and I said we would never have that many visitors if it was us :)Food Booze & Baggagehttp://www.foodboozeandbaggage.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1532204237192804954.post-59875320339965150432015-03-02T11:47:28.357-08:002015-03-02T11:47:28.357-08:00I can totally relate. She taught me how to get up in moments when no one knows expects you to do it. This post is beautiful! We are not defined by what has happened to us but by how we choose to take advantage to what's been given to us!Isabelhttp://www.thesunnysideothis.com/noreply@blogger.com
