It just keeps getting better

"Have I told you today that I love you?"
Me to him, every single day.
"Have I told you what a beautiful woman you have become?"
Him to me, every single day.

We joke about how he raised me, how I was still such a child when I arrived 15 years ago, red suitcase in my sweaty hand, with no idea who I was or what I was supposed to do with my life.
"I even sent you to school!" he laughs, and yes, he did; 10 years ago I went back to college for the third, and blessedly last, time.
He did, in a way, raise me.

He taught me the importance of naps, and the unimportance of what people think of you.
He taught me that life is precious, and that it's better to sit together in the sun and talk, instead of cleaning the house right.this.minute. The house can wait. It can always wait.

He taught me how to maintain friendships and make new friends; he made me call my grandma regularly, so when she passed away last year, I had no regrets, only fond memories.

He taught me that life is way less serious than I think it is, and that most problems will resolve themselves.

He always has time for a second cup of tea.
Or a third glass of wine. 😉

He loves me in a way that taught me to love myself - something I never thought I would be able to learn.
He taught me that my silver strands are sexy (his word, not mine), and that aging is beautiful.

He taught me that the seemingly impossible can be done.
He taught me to believe in myself.

He taught me that it's perfectly acceptable to watch entire Netflix seasons in one sitting.
And that it's nothing to be ashamed of if you want to hide from the world for a while.

He taught me to believe in love.
And that after 13 years of marriage, it's possible to love each other more and deeper than ever before.

Happy Anniversary, Rich. ❤
I can't wait to see what the next 13 years will bring!

Love, Miriam

(12th anniversary)
