Last Saturday we took our friends to a tiny, hidden Mexican restaurant. It's in an industrial area, with a view of warehouses, office buildings, and a parking lot.
But as soon as you step inside, you are transported to a little village somewhere deep in Mexico. It's an explosion of colours, festive music, the tantalizing smells of food, and the huge welcoming smiles of the owners.
I love that place, because it's such a study in contrasts, but also because it simply makes me happy.
I had been waiting for a good opportunity to wear my Mexican-inspired off-the-shoulder blouse, and that night out was perfect. Paired with my ancient American Eagle skinnies (yup, still wearing them, weird rules-girl) and my battered favourite clogs, I felt like a Mexican senorita!
