Adele and me

Once in a while, you come across something or someone special. It usually has nothing to do with who you are or what you do - it's a connection that just happens, as if by magic.
And it is magic. When you find a friendship like that, you hit the jackpot!

That's what happened to me and Adele. Adele is one of our mini goats. But she isn't just any goat - she is a natural yoga goat!

When we got her last summer, I practiced in the goat pen several times, trying to get her interested.
She was skeptical at first:

But she's curious and a big cuddler, and it didn't take her long to get in on the action.

I stopped practicing with the goats when Rich got sick, and as he got worse, I stopped yoga all together. Not only was my time suddenly not my own anymore, but I was afraid to face my emotions on the mat. You can't practice yoga without looking deep inside yourself, and I didn't dare do that. My insides were a mess, and I shut myself down as much as I could in order to survive.
It was a loooong winter, y'all.

But slowly, with Rich's health returning, I've noticed that I'm waking up from my emotional hibernation.
A few weeks ago, I showed a friend the farm, and when we went into the goat pen, Adele was all over me. She looked at me with her sweet face, all but asking me, "where have you been?"
I'm back, sweet girl, I'm back.

I apologize for the poor quality of the videos, my phone is getting old and the lighting isn't great.
Adele and I can't wait to practice outside together!
If the snow ever melts, that is - as I'm looking outside, I'm currently watching a snow storm.

Spring, you can come any time now, okay? We're ready!

Happy Sunday!

xoxo Miriam
