Dancing on sunshine

Yesterday was a perfect autumn day: Brilliant blue sky, crisp air, and the nice sunshine that is still strong enough during the day to make the air warm and balmy.

I spent all day yesterday burning the excess firewood that we can't leave behind and don't want to take with us. The fire burnt for 9 hours, and was intensely satisfying. The best meditation I know!
Today the rain has returned, and we keep hearing varying reports of impending storms/hurricanes (depending on the source). Let's hope the hurricane-camp is wrong.

Speaking of rain: Have you read Liane Moriarty's latest book, Truly Madly Guilty? I just started it, and I can't put it down. It's so suspenseful and gripping, I can't wait to find out what happened during that barbecue. I'm just over halfway through, so no spoilers please!

Dress: ModCloth (no longer available); similar
Booties: Old Navy
Denim Jacket: Old Navy
Scarf: old (similar)

  2. Yay for tights and scarves. I'm curious about what you love about booties, because I just can't get on board with them. In fact they are on a list in a blog post I'm working on entitled "Things I don't get."

Sounds like a lovely fall day yesterday - hope you don't get hurricane conditions.

I am like 97th on the list at the library to get Truly Madly Guilty. Maybe I should listen to it on Audible? I listened to The Husband's Secret and it's probably my favorite Moriarty book.

    1. Mine too. I just finished "Truly Madly Guilty",and it's in my top 3 of Liane's books. The Husband's Secret is #1, but "What Alice Forgot" and "Truly Madly Guilty" are a tie. I'd say, go with Audible. It's so worth it!
The 3 top reasons why I love booties are
      1. They are easy to wear (boots sometimes get too hot, or pants don't fit properly into them)
      2. I love the way they look with skirts and dresses
      3. They show off cute tights.
      Seriously, give booties a try!

  3. Love the outfit! I need to get new tights and try pulling this look off. Why wouldn't the new owners want firewood? That's just crazy. They must be inside people.

    1. Yup, they are. They also want to build their own house in a different spot and rent our house out. I'm fine with it, I got a very enjoyable, huge fire out of it!
Dressing for fall is seriously easy: Every girl looks cute in tights, boots and a dress. Try it, you'll love it! Wear one of your eShakti dresses, they transition beautifully into fall 😊🍂

    1. I've read "Girl on a train", and really enjoyed the beginning, but wasn't loving the end. Still a good book though, and they are making it into a movie!

  6. Such a great way to layer up a little white dress - the red scarf and denim jacket are perfect with it and the tights and boots make it cold weather appropriate :)

Hope that you have a wonderful weekend and the weather isn't as bad as predicted!

  7. It was raining when I woke up this morning and I was so incredibly happy about it.

And then I remembered we have traffic.

I love your outfit! I don't miss winter, but I DO miss scarves!

    1. Ugh, rain and traffic don't mix. We've had so much rain this fall, I'm thoroughly sick of it. Give me snow with sunshine any day! ❄🌞
