Which door do you choose?

One of my favourite bloggers, Isabel from The sunny side of this, introduced this test in her latest post. I took it, and the results surprised me - they were spot on! I love any kind of psychological quiz (anything that helps me figuring stuff out), and I thought I would share it on here for you to try!

Take a look at these six doors. Which one(s) look the most appealing to you? Which door(s) would you choose?

I chose doors #3 and #5. Number 3 for its golden light and colourful fall foliage, which are the colours I'm most drawn to (they are all over my house and wardrobe), and number 5 for its sense of tranquility, beauty, the connection of water and land, and the sense of being able to see far into the distance.

Here is what the doors stand for:

Door #1:

Your path is the path of freedom. A lot of space, carving your own path and independence are important to you. You are likely to think of several different solutions to your problem before diving in and you have a tendency to be a little resistant. You take your time and enjoy your life quietly.

Door #2:
Your path is private. You think best on your own and you'd prefer to travel and go to events alone so you won't feel the need to have to babysit anyone or make small talk. You like your friends, but you need a lot of space to recalibrate after a social setting.

Door #3:
You have a colourful and vibrant path. You need to be constantly stimulated with excitement, beauty and adventure. You cannot stand to be bored. You are a true lifelong learner and always question the things around you.

Door #4:
You choose the path of excitement. You are always looking toward the future, trying new things, perhaps a little impulsively, and figuring out the consequences later. You can be a bit of a rule breaker, but others admire your charisma and love of the thrill. Nobody can accuse you of wasting your time.

Door #5:
You are on a welcoming path. Peace, tranquility and natural beauty are important to you and you are careful to enjoy not just the destination, but the journey. You go with the flow and don’t get in your own way. You try to keep stable, flowing energy around you and you are great at avoiding drama.

Door #6:
Your path is the quiet path. Solitude, silence and deliberation are very centering to you and you always prefer to spend time with a close friend than to meet a new person. You are a truth and meaning seeker and you are constantly trying to absorb new things and commit yourself to lifelong learning. You are a deep thinker.

When I read what they represent, I kept nodding to myself. "You cannot stand to be bored." - yes, that's completely me! I always take a book with me wherever I go, to prevent a sudden onset of boredom. Just sitting around, doing nothing is extremely difficult for me.

"You always question the things around you" - omg, way too much sometimes. I'm a supreme overthinker, which has its downsides (you can get trapped in your own thoughts); but it's a great gift for a writer, and keeps the everyday interesting.

Door #5 describes an essential yoga lesson: "Peace, tranquility and natural beauty are important to you and you are careful to enjoy not just the destination, but the journey." That's the path I'm on, and I love it so much!

The last sentence resonated greatly with me as well: "You are great at avoiding drama." That has been a primary goal for me for a while now, and I feel that I'm slowly getting better at it.

What do you think? Did the quiz nail it? Tell me!

  1. How fun! I chose door 2 and door 5 and the descriptions were pretty accurate!! I mainly chose them because they look the most like summer and warmth to me. Weird motivation, huh?

  2. I chose #3 and 5 too! I TOTALLY Think #3 represents me, but I don't know about #5. I don't really go with the flow... I chose those because they're bright and pretty and look like good running locations :)

  8. You and Mary chose the same doors! I was drawn to #2 as well, and after reading what it meant, I thought it would be fitting as well. your motivation isn't weird at all! I think we all simply chose according to what felt most comfortable to us.
