Style: Sweater dress season has arrived

Let's all take a moment and appreciate this fact: The time for sweater dresses is upon us!
Sweater dresses make winter bearable for me. We all like sweaters, right? It's impossible not to. They are cozy, comfy, and hide any lumps and bumps we don't want to show off. After a long season of skimpy tops and naked skin, they are just what the doctor ordered.
The sweater dress takes it up a notch: While maintaining the cozy and comfy qualities, it is also chic and stylish.

I currently own three (only three, I hear you ask? - I agree), but I'm planning on expanding my collection. I have my eyes on either this perfect-for-winter-and-oh-so-pretty onethis striped one, or that adorable cider one. Whatever I buy, you'll see it here for sure.

But let's focus on this little red number now. When I saw this dress at the store three years ago (I think), I fell in love instantly. In case you didn't know, I have a thing for red dresses.
The only problem was this: It was almost $100, which is above what I like to spend on a regular dress.
However, I was especially vulnerable at the time because my husband was away for two weeks, and I felt lonely and in need of cheering up. So I did what any girl would do in this situation: Took the problem to Facebook.

Ladies, take my advice: If you ever want to do something indulgent you know you shouldn't, but want to anyway, take it to other ladies. The overwhelming opinion was to "go for it!", "buy it!", "you deserve it", and my favourite: "you will look smashing in it!", so what choice did I have? I bought it.

And I never regretted it. I wore it when I picked up my husband from the airport, and he loved it as well. Turns out, he has a thing for red dresses, too ;-)

Sweater dress: old (similar here and here); leather jacket: old (similar); tights: Old Navy; booties: Target (old; similar)

Do you love sweater dresses as much as I do?
When was the last time you indulged?
