A day in the life

Magic hour

Do you ever wonder how the people you know look like in the morning? What they do first thing upon waking up: make coffee? have a shower? work out? eat chocolate? (No judgement here. I do it too.)
And what's the first thing they do upon returning from work: take off their bra? pour a drink? plop on the couch? eat chocolate? (It's the time of the month, FYI. I have chocolate on my mind.)

I know I'm not the only one who is curious about these minute, yet oddly interesting details of other people's lives. Why else would we watch reality TV, read blogs, or devour magazines filled with photos of people going shopping or walking their dogs (celebrities - they are just like us!).

Well, I have excellent news for you: You need to wonder no more what a day in my life looks like: I'll show you! Last week I recorded a typical day where I was off work, doing the things I love to do.

Disclaimer: It was a particularly pretty day, with the sun beaming down from a spectacularly blue sky. Not every day is like that IRL, but it is in bloglife. Because it never rains in blogland

Spring blossoms

I usually wake up around 7am these days, even on my days off. I stretch, cuddle the corgi, then get up to make coffee. That first cup of coffee in the morning is my favourite ritual of the day, and I start looking forward to it the night before. I will never give it up!
While I sip said coffee, I read my favourite blogs. Part two of my morning ritual, and another reason why I love mornings. I always make time for it, even if it means getting up at 5 in the morning. It's that important.

After that: yoga. I'm thrilled that the weather has been nice enough lately for practicing outside! I missed it.

Can you see the peahens? They are to the left of the picture.

Because I'm feeling particularly energetic this morning (and the weather is so glorious), I go for a walk with the dogs.
Spring day

After some lunch, I have to go grocery shopping. One of my least favourite chores, but it has to be done.
What comes next is much more fun: Driving to the States to pick up a parcel from SheIn. This online store is a recent discovery, and it's my first order. I love it all!
I can't wait to style one of the items (I bought four) and share them here. Particularly this boho dress!

I selfied while waiting at the border. Dresshatsunnies.

Once I'm home, I model every single item for Richard. He likes three of them, despises one (this skirt). Too bad, I happen to love it!

After that, it's time to brush and clean the horses.

And then: happy hour!
Happy hour

Including a free concert from our canaries and a surprise visit from a friend, who tells us about his haunted house and ghosts. (He totally believes in them. I'm not so sure.)

We finish the day with watching TV and drinking tea.

It was a good one!

What do you do on your days off?
