Achievements of 2017

Some of the things I'm proud of this year:

- started a newsletter (you should subscribe to it here!) I have 105 subscribers, and I'm so happy about it! You all mean the world to me 💓
- lived up to my word of the year: Determination.
- wrote the damn book (which will be out early next year, I promise! For a sneak peek, click here).
- found a job at my dream small town hospital
- read like a fiend: over 50 books, and counting. I read like an obsessed person this year, and I don't see it changing any time soon 😀
- learnt to forgive
- learnt to roast red beets
- stayed in touch with my best male friend, despite moving away
- stayed in touch (and got closer!) to a very special friend
- got over my fear of talking on the phone (well, almost. I still don't like it, but I do it)
- hosted my mother-in-law, daughter-with-friends, parents, and various other guests at our home
- became a bridesmaid, for the very first time in my life! And for the best girl I could imagine.
- really embraced my wrinkles, grey hairs, cellulite, belly, and aging skin, largely due to these incredible, amazing girls: Megan Jayne Crabbe and Kino MacGregor

- was reminded, once again, that roles models, friends, and confidantes don't have to be in your physical vicinity. Having role models on social media can be just as real as "real" people around you. Very few of us are fortunate enough to meet people in real life that will change our lives in a significant way. Just think about it: how rare would it be to meet the right person, at the right time, to help you with your particular obstacle at that time? It's a crap shoot. And it's not like waiting for the perfect life partner. You might be willing to wait for that (after all, it's for life, right?), but if you're in a pinch right now? Go ahead and consult your online pals. Let me tell you: They've helped me out more times than I can count, when my real-life pals couldn't.
- watched a lot of Netflix (Gilmore Girls for the 3rd time; Mad Men for the first time)
- did the second "real" photo shoot of my life (the top pic of this post is one of them)
- adopted a dog

- catered to my sick husband with minimal* amount of complaining

*apparently, I used the word minimal loosely. Very loosely, according to some people. But then again, those people don't have to live with themselves. Well, they do, but not in the same way. Makes no sense? Okay, fine, I may have rolled my eyes a few times too many. I apologize.  *rolls her eyes*

What are some of your accomplishments of the year? Everything goes!

xoxo Miriam

    1. So do I, it's so much fun! It's weird how quickly we forget everything that happened in only a few short months. Making a list helps to remember it all!

  2. That is a very accomplished year! I look forward to reading your book! 2018 will be just as big if not bigger for sure.

  3. You're such an inspiration! I love seeing everything you have accomplished in one list. I think I will work on something similar. I might come up with a blog related list and another for my personal life. What a great way to celebrate the year!
