Who is amazed. And grateful. Grateful and amazed.
Amazed that these photos happened. Because I have absolutely no idea how they turned out so - artsy, I guess? Good thing I like to be surprised, half the time I have no clue what's happening around me. Or in front of me.
But I dig these pics, because they showcase the first snow this year (yay!!), and are delightfully blurry and whimsical, and make me feel like a woodland creature. Hence the title.
Grateful for the past weekend.
This past weekend was my birthday weekend. I am 34 now and feel finally grown up! But more about this later, I have a whole blog post planned on this topic.
Okay, back to the festivities. Like every other year, I didn't plan anything. (I never do, I'm weird about my birthday. That's just a fact of life, so let's move on.)
In keeping with my strange attitude about birthdays, I also like to work on my birthday. I'm not shy about telling everybody ("Hey, it's my birthday!"), so I usually get a free meal/chocolate bar/slice of cake/a few warm hugs out of it. In my book? That's priceless. I love it, and I don't wanna miss it.
So I went back to work after my vacation on my birthday, with a baked cake and everything, and it was really nice. And yes, I did get my free chocolate bar (Kinder Bueno. It's good.). At home we drank champagne, I got my balloon, snuggled up by the Christmas tree, and watched TV. So cozy, it was perfect.
On Saturday, my darling, lovely, sweet (step)daughter Denise came by for coffee and to give me my new favourite winter sweater ever. Please check it out in the photo above, it's amazing!
Then on Sunday, my dear friend Brianne took me out for dinner+drinks, and gave me the awesome lantern I am holding in some of these pictures here. And then, Rich and I saw Catching Fire, the second Hunger Games movie. It was spectacular and we really enjoyed it.
What's the point of all this rambling-on? I am so grateful, and happy, and at peace. Thank you, thank you, thank you all for the well-wishes, gifts, and efforts you put into me for that day. I love you!
