A mother-in-law's compliment

It's a humpday miracle!

My mother-in-law (who, for reasons only known to herself, calls me "Mirija" instead of Miriam) made me a compliment!

She obviously didn't tell me personally (Germans only have an approximate life-supply of about 10 direct compliments and are very careful in giving them out), but who cares. Mama-in-law told Richard that I wear very nice clothes!!

Call the newspapers, that will never happen again.

Hope your day will bring an unexpected happy surprise!

xx Miriam

  1. Oh, your statement about German's being guarded with their compliments made me chuckle. Having lived in Germany as a teen and from working with some as an adult I can completely understand and appreciate the rare German compliment.

    1. It is rare, isn't it.
They are very generous with criticism though! Unsolicited advice is plentiful.
      Thanks for stopping by!

  2. O goodness I feel the same way about my Swedish mother in law! If she said something like this to me I would probably faint!
