Reason #852 why I love Canada: The people. Everybody is so nice! It's not only a cliché, it's the truth. I always notice it more after having been in Europe, where people are just - different.
Yesterday I went grocery shopping, wearing the exact outfit you see here. As I was loading up my cart with fresh produce, I heard someone say: "Excuse me. Excuse me?"
I looked up, and saw an elderly gentleman standing in front of me. He smiled, and said: "I just wanted to tell you that I like your outfit." Then he doffed his hat, and moved on.
Such a small gesture, but it made my day! I had a huge grin on my face for the rest of the shopping trip, and the resolve to do more of it myself. Paying compliments to others is so easy to do, with a small effort on our part, but a big impact for the other person.
That's the power of fashion, kindness, and finding joy in the everyday.
