Two bitches in heat

It's humpday confession time! I got prepared and everything, wrote my post yesterday, linking up bright and early, feeling on top of my game. *high fives all around!*

Something wonderful has happened. Wonderful, yet disturbing - which sometimes is the best kind.
My sweet little Corgi Lily got her first period! Which will also be her last one (lucky girl), because we will get her spayed after this. My little girl is growing up! *wiping tear out of the corner of my eye*
So far the bleeding is manageable, and I really hope it will stay that way.

But that's not the wonderfully disturbing part yet - her and I sync up! In case you (guy readers - yes, they do exist!) don't know what that means - our cycles have matched up. We are blood sisters. TMI? It shouldn't, since the human (and canine) body is a beautiful and very natural thing (picture this said sternly, with a raised finger, in a school teacher's voice)! It's like college room mates living together. Or sisters. I think it's awesome.
There's only one downside: the bitch is crazy. Hormones apparently affect dogs as well as us ladies!
Lily has been attacking her big sisters (death wish?), my ankles (I raised an ankle biter?), and is generally out of sorts. Poor thing, she's a woman bitch now!

In related news: How can I be 34 years old and still get zits? Damn hormones strike again - hormones: 2, Miriam: 0. And how have I not yet learnt to stop doing this:

Every.single.time.

Which leads me to my next revelation: I think my skin hates me.

I'm covered in bruises, flea bites (#farmgirlproblems), zits, moles, fine (and not-so-fine) lines, and a whole assortment of mystery spots all over my body. WTF??
I have no idea where they all come from.
Zits and lines should never go together.
I like my skin, but it doesn't like me back.

That is all.

What do you have to confess today? Come and link up with Kathy!

  2. I get more acne now then I ever did as a teenager.... And a dry patch in my face that roams from year to year. This time it's around the corner of my mouth. My skin started getting wacky at 35. It's been down hill from there LOL.

  4. Ugh I have a recurring button on my face when I never ever had acne before. And I laughed at you syncing up with your dog. From experience Ill tell ya to cover your couches and carpet or keep her in a contained area because ... it can get real nasty real quick.

  8. I am also a queen of the mystery bruise! Adam and I are often shower buddies since we workout together a lot and both race to the shower and we have a fun time trying to figure out where all my random leg bruises come from! haha!

  11. I know with the random bruises...P is always like "where did not come from" so I've started responding with "I'm sure you kicked me while we were sleeping" ;) We went to sit outside Sunday, and 5 seconds of being outside something had already stung me and I got a huge welt on my leg :( I would have never known about dog periods if not for reading this...I don't think I've ever had a female animal before.

  12. I thought I was the only one with leg bruise problems! Plus I'm so pale that you can always see them. It's weird. Maybe we all sleepwalk? :)
