Today I was having lunch with Rich (he's home again, hurrah!), and I asked him if there is something he still wants to achieve in his life.
He said: "I'm living my dream already. I'm very happy and content these days." Living on a farm with lots of animals was always his dream, and instead of waiting for a distant day in the future to turn it into a reality, he did it as soon as he could: When he was 38 years old and bought the farm we still live on.
I tend to dream and talk and make lists, then get discouraged and distracted and impatient, and to then lose my focus.
My husband is a person who knows exactly what we wants, and then goes for it one hundred percent. I want to be more like that.
Lots of my dreams are vague, because there is one huge obstacle in my life: myself. While I may know what I want, I don't know how to get there; I think I'm not good enough; I tend to give up before I even get started.
But we can always change and evolve, and I promised myself not to give up. I have this wonderful person by my side who shows me every day that dreams do come true!
One dream that I am already living (through no effort of my own, I admit), is to have a pack of dogs. It sort of just happened over the years, and I couldn't be happier. These guys are the best friends a girl could ask for, and make me smile every single day.
Who needs dragons if you can have dogs?
