School of Life Linkup

Sundays will look a bit different from now on. Listen up guys: Sunday school is in session!
Life Lessons Linkup

I'm beyond thrilled that Shannon from Brass Honey invited Mariah and me to teach co-host a weekly link-up:
School of Life.
I love thinking, talking and writing about life and its many quirks and blessings. You know the saying: You learn something new every day? Well, when you do, tell us about it!
From tiny aha-moments to big revelations, anything goes.

Let's get started!
First lesson learnt: Life is full of surprises.
Found on Pinterest (couldn't find the original source)

The last few days I've been in a bit of a funk. For no reason, just feeling meh. Tired, a bit stressed out, work is blah, not enough hubby+me time. No fun little outings planned. Nothing in the near future to look forward to.
The last vacation happened 6 months ago, and the next one is not on the horizon for another 3 months. You know what I'm talking about?  #firstworldproblems
Anyway, like a bright ray of sunshine, Shannon's invite to co-host this lovely link-up here arrived in my mailbox. Anything blog-related still makes my heart skip a beat with delight, and I felt instantly a million times better! Not only because I love her and Mariah so very much, but also because the theme is so perfectly suited for my taste and this blog.
Unexpected surprises (and friends) are the bee's knees!

Second lesson learnt: Check your emails.

Found on Pinterest
I almost missed that mood-boosting invitation, because I didn't check my blog email-account for several days. Oops! Won't happen again, I promise! Especially since email, contrary to regular mail, rarely contains bills or downers, and is usually full of little happy notes.

Third lesson learnt: My husband is proud of our relationship.

That one melts my heart every time I think about it. Yesterday morning when I woke up, he was already in the living room, talking on the phone to a friend. That particular friend is in a somewhat rocky relationship, and I guess he was asking Rich about ours. Rich told him: "Things are going really well. In fact, it gets better every year. I couldn't be happier."
I feel the same way my love. Emoji

Fourth lesson learnt: Beware of the llama.

If you are a Corgi that is. Lily met the llamas for the first time yesterday, and Neil didn't seem to quite know what to make of her. "What is that little thing on a string?" I could see him thinking. "Rabbit? Alien? It can't be a dog, can it?" Llamas aren't naturally friends with dogs, and you have to introduce them slowly. I made sure that we were at a safe distance at all times.

 "Huh? What's that?"
"I have never seen such a thing before."
 "Curious."
 "It's looking at me."
"Smells like... a dog? Can it be? I have never seen such a creature in my life."
"Well, I'm stumped."

Share your stories with us my friends! And if you so desire, you can grab Mariah's nifty button and link back to Brass Honey
Happy Mother's Day to you all!!

Love, Miriam
