Style: Ferns and a hat

A week ago on Canada Day I had the questionable brain wave that I could do an outfit post once a week. And since it was a Monday, I thought "Monday it is. Something fun to look forward to on the dreaded beginning of the week."

Oh dear.
I love clothes. LOVE them! And I love looking at them on people, online, in stores, on other blogs - it's fabulous!

But I hate posing. Because I don't know how to. What to do with my arms? Where to look? To smile or not to smile? So many questions, and no answers. I cannot wait for Elsie and Emma's A Beautiful Mess Photo Idea Book to come out on August 13! It's already pre-ordered.
Hopefully that will help me!

In the meantime, I apologize for the forced smile and strange poses.

We are having a fantastic summer so far. For the last 10 days or so it has been sunny, warm, and gorgeous. And there's no change in sight for the next 10 days!

At home all I'm wearing right now is little shorts or skirts, a light top or bikini top, and hats. Ever since I started growing my hair out (there's a story about it here) I'm obsessed with hats, bandanas, hairbands. Whatever helps to hide the awkward growing-out stage. Plus I'm finally getting sun-smart with my hair and try to protect it whenever I can.

Everything about this outfit is old.
Hat, top and sandals: Old Navy
Skirt: American Eagle
Bracelet: Chickpea Design Studio
Necklace: from Kihei, Maui
Ring: Gift from my sister

Enjoy the summer!

  4. Love the photo of the blue heeler! I used to house sit for a lady who had 5 dogs, and 3 were blue heelers!! Love them! :) I'm visiting your blog via the add on Better Blogger Network. My hubby & I are looking into buying a house on an acre of land all ready to go with apple trees, grape vines, black berry bushes, full organic garden and more! I hope it works out because then we'll be able to get chickens and start growing our own vegetables!

    1. They are awesome dogs, we just adore her. If you get the chance to buy some acreage then go for it, it's so rewarding! We live on 5 acres and absolutely love it!
Thanks for checking out my blog, I'm following you now too!
