Style: Posing with dogs

I just spent the most entertaining hour in a long time. You wanna know what happened?
Well, over the last few days the urge to try my hand on another outfit post has grown steadily stronger. Fall fashion is my absolute fave: you don't have to worry about shaving your legs, nobody can see the dire state of my pedicure (it's bad guys), and I really have quite a few cute clothes hanging in my closet!

What always deters me is taking the actual photos: I have the option between Richard or self-timer. They both have their advantages and disadvantages:
When Richard takes them I don't have to (good), but that window of opportunity is extremely small (bad). Minuscule. He has patience for a maximum of 10 pictures or so, and that's it. If they are blurry, too light or dark, or I stand in unacceptably awkward poses - too bad, so sad.
Rich was still at work today, so that made this choice easy.
Self-timer it was. And what fun we had! I took them outside in our yard, and the dogs all were there as well. Picture this scene: I balance my good old Nikon Coolpix P90 on a couple logs (I don't have a tripod), set the timer at 10 seconds (I don't have a remote), and start power-walking to my carefully randomly selected spot. The dogs all run after me, thinking we are playing a cool game. My camera's countdown is silent (I don't know if you can turn on sound?), so I'm never sure when exactly the exposure is going to happen. That's my excuse for strange or surprised poses, and I'm sticking to it.

The photos are quite silly, but I had so much fun! I may have finally found the key to taking outfit pictures: Don't take it seriously, have fun, and keep the doggies close!

I actually changed outfits (whaatt??), so there will be a part 2 to this madness.
I misjudged the 10 seconds and thought the picture was already done. Oops!

Shorts: Next (old, bought them 3 years ago in London)
Top: ModCloth, 'Black Tea With Milk Top'
Tights: Smart Set
Shoes: Payless Dexflex by Dexter (similar)

Keep your eyes peeled for part 2. Coming soon!

xoxo Miriam
