Photography challenge: February (so far)

Here is the next installment of my photography challenge. You can definitely see that I got a new phone at the end of January, because I'm using it a lot now for taking pictures. Yay! Cellphone photography has a special place in my heart.

(clockwise from top left):
1. I tried to capture the mountains in the distance, looking golden because of the setting sun. It didn't quite work out, but the trees are sort of nice, too.
2. Close-up during a walk.
3. Lily snuggling with Rich. Her belly is so round here!
4. Pretty/dramatic clouds, taken from my car.

1. Port Mann Bridge
2. My Haflinger Nick
3. Outfit post
4. City pigeons

1. Mother and son. Kalle Obama went to his new home yesterday. He has 2 other llamas (neutered males) and 6 sheep for company, he will have a grand old time! It's a rite of passage.
2. Rainy day
3. Wild pigeons circling our place
4. Our sheep - you can't see the second one here, due to cropping the image

1. Colourful peacock tail feathers
2. I tried to do a Valentine's-inspired outfit post, but it didn't work out at all. This was pretty much the only picture I liked. It felt posy and awkward, because I usually never wear these kinda high heels. I see the point of them (hello, longer legs!), but can't walk in them. Lame, I know. Instead I did this photo shoot and it was so much fun! Give me (gum) boots any day!

Our Valentine's was cozy and quiet. We stayed at home, Rich cooked for me (steak and prawns!), and then we watched a movie (Dallas Buyers Club - really good!). We don't really celebrate it in a big way.
Honestly, coming from Germany, I'm amazed at the elaborate way North Americans celebrate holidays! Germans are way more subdued. We never exchanged Valentine's cards and/or gifts at school for example.

Anyways, I hope you all had a wonderful day.

Have a great weekend,
Miriam

  1. As much as I dislike rain, I always love a photo showing the raindrops. If that's taken on your phone - thats one heck of a phone camera!

    1. Oh I absolutely love it! It's the new HTC One, and I specifically bought it because the camera was supposed to be good. It is totally living up to my expectation! I can't recommend it highly enough. If you're in the market for a new phone, get this one!

  2. I love Valentine's Day and all the hearts and love and pink and happiness, but then I don't actually decorate or celebrate... Whoops! This year Declan and I made Valentines together which was awesome, and then sent them to all the people who live far away and we don't see. That made me pretty happy. :)

And I love that close-up on the walk!! Hope you made it through losing your baby Obama without too many tears.
