Style: First outfit post of the new year!

It's the first fashion post of 2015!
Over the last few days/weeks of introspection I asked myself why I like doing outfit posts so much. Is it a narcissistic thing, posting as many pictures as possible of myself? After taking a hard look at myself (and quite a bit so squirming), I can say with some confidence that this is not the case. I hope. (Maybe a little? Ugh, let's not examine this any further. Moving on.)

No seriously, what I really love about creating outfits is that I have found a whole new appreciation for the clothes I have in my closet. If you have been following along, you may have noticed that a lot of my items are actually quite old. I've done a pretty good job in my big, bad shopping days of creating a wardrobe that is versatile and fun! I am trying to downsize my life, cutting out excess, and that philosophy also includes my closet. While I may never have a true capsule wardrobe, I have been gradually buying less and less clothes over the last year.
Creating outfits with clothes I already own has shown me how many clothes there are: a closet full of clothes, and tons of outfits to wear! Loving it.

Since I choose not to work full-time (most of the time), I will try to find more ways of spending less money. Shopping for clothes has always been my biggest weakness, so by curbing that I should be able to maintain my part-time work status. Work less, relax more - how's that for a resolution? I dig it.

Skirt: Forever 21, sold out (similar); plaid shirt: H&M (similar); jacket: H&M (old) (similar); newsboy cap: stolen from husband (similar); boots: The Shoe Company (old) (similar); gloves: gift (similar)

I'm breaking out in 2015! LOL oh and introducing me to Eshakti too- thanks for that! I just purchased my 2nd dress ($17.17 final cost) Score!
